Satu Mare
Satu Mare (Sathmar in German) is a city with approx. 140,000 inhabitants in the district of Satu Mare in Romania. It is Romania's northwestern city and is close to the border with Hungary.
Satu Mare is situated on the banks of the river Someș, and is, as well as it was earlier, a commercial town with a few farms in the light-industry and handicraft. There live about the same number of Romanians and Hungarians.
